TAPESTRY FOLK DANCE CENTER
Tapestry Folkdance Center is a membership organization but is not a requirement for dancing at Tapestry. Chandelier Ballroom. SPJST Lodge Pokrok, 1435 Beall St, Houston, TX. (713) 869-5767. 1st Saturday, Big Band Ballroom. Dance from 8:30 pm - 12:00 am. $11. Great music, wonderful dance floor, dress code (but casual seems OK), good to have a partner, but often there are loosely-organized groups of singles. Directions from I-10. Shepherd/Durham exit, north on Shepherd, west on 15th St., dead ends at Beall St., left, then immediate right into lodge parking lot. Durham is one-way south back to I-10. (Men, if you are a good lead, you can dance all evening.)
